Information Referral and Assistance

The Regional Information, Referral and Assistance program (I/R&A) provides a one-stop approach to bringing together the services, resources and seniors of Georgetown, Horry and Williamsburg counties. A trained I/R&A Specialist works with clients to confidentially assess a situation and make appropriate referrals. When necessary, I/R&A staff can advocate on behalf of a client or community.

Our I/R&A staff can provide information regarding:

  • Financial Assistance/Emergency Assistance
  • Health, Wellness and Senior Activities
  • Homemaking Services/Home Health Services
  • Housing
  • Medication Assistance
  • Transportation
  • Aging in Place

Waccamaw Regional Council of Governments is an agency that offers regional programming and governmental services in Georgetown, Horry and Williamsburg counties of northeastern South Carolina. Created by the state legislature in the late 1960’s, its mission is to support local governments in the region and develop effective partnerships that foster efficient transportation systems, economic and workforce development and allow the region’s seniors to age in place.
