Aging Services Assessor

Waccamaw Regional Council of Governments (WRCOG) is seeking an Aging Services Assessor to perform individual, in-person assessments for seniors referred for aging services.  This position will screen client’s health and service needs, review service eligibility, document assessment results and make referrals as needed. This position requires the successful candidate to visit clients in their homes and at community centers in Horry, Georgetown and Williamsburg Counties. High School diploma required, Associates or bachelor’s degree in Public or Business Administration, Social Work, Psychology preferred. Minimum two (2) years of experience in related field that may include social work, public health, nursing, or related field. Experience with and knowledge of federal and state laws/regulations related to senior legislation. Must complete Assessor Training Provided by the SCDOA. AIRS Certification and / or Medicare Certification preferred.  Must possess and maintain a valid State driver’s license.

Consumer Choice Program Coordinator

Waccamaw Regional Council of Governments (WRCOG) is seeking a Consumer Choice Program Coordinator. The successful candidate will develop and operate a Consumer Choice Program which will provide support services to seniors to allow them to continue to live in their homes. This position will: recruit entities to participate as service providers for various consumer choice programs; disseminate information concerning programs and program eligibility to clients; prepare billing and reimbursement documentation; enter program data into state reporting databases and provide support to other Aging Programs as needed.  Associates Degree in Social Work, Human Services, or related field, with two or more years of experience in human services is preferred.  This is a one-year full-time, temporary grant position. Salary commensurate with grant requirements and applicant education and experience.

Grants Writer/Administrator

Waccamaw Regional Council of Governments (WRCOG) is seeking a Grants Writer/Administrator.  This position writes, implements and administers grants for local governments and partners in the region. Grant programs of WRCOG include: EDA, CDBG, WIOA, FEMA, SCDOT, and SCDHEC. Strong writing, analytical, and organizational skills are required. Preferred candidate must possess the ability to communicate effectively, engage in community outreach activities, public meetings, and public speaking.  Bachelor’s degree with one to three years of experience in community development, economic development, workforce development, project development, grant writing or administration required, a master’s degree is preferred.  Must possess and maintain a valid State driver’s license.

Senior Planner

Waccamaw Regional Council of Governments (WRCOG) is seeking a Senior Planner for its Planning and Transportation Department. This position will support the organization’s MPO and local planning programs. This position will help coordinate key areas of WRCOG’s MPO program in North Carolina and South Carolina and implement activities and initiatives as the designated recipient of Federal Transit Administration funds. This position may also provide assistance to local planning commissions, boards and citizen advisory groups in the preparation and implementation of plans and programs, and draft comprehensive plans, zoning regulations, ordinances/codes, hazard mitigation plans and other planning studies. Undergraduate degree  in Planning or related field with 7 or more years of relevant work experience; or Master’s Degree in Planning with emphasis in transportation or urban planning with 5 or more years of relevant work experience.  Certification with the American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP) is required.  Possess and maintain a valid state driver’s license.

Waccamaw Regional Council of Governments (WRCOG) is seeking an Entry Level Planner to support its Transportation and Local Planning Program. This position will assist with developing plans and reports (growth management, land use, economic development, transportation, water quality, air quality, or other plans), providing technical assistance to local governments, collecting and analyzing data, and writing and administering proposals and grant applications.. The selected candidate will be responsible for special projects and provide professional planning assistance to local governments on varied planning projects and serve as contracted planning staff for local governments in the region.  The selected candidate will be required to interpret and apply applicable state, county and local codes, ordinances and regulations.  Undergraduate degree in Planning with 3 or more years of relevant work experience; or Master’s Degree in Planning with emphasis in transportation or urban planning. Certification with the American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP) is preferred.  Possess and maintain a valid state driver’s license.
