Planning Assistance
WRCOG provides planning assistance to local governments on a contractual basis. Available and ongoing planning assistance include:
- Preparing comprehensive plans and assisting communities with periodic updates as required by state law
- Preparing zoning and development ordinances catered to address the specific needs and development issues of the community
- Assisting in the preparation of annexation studies and environmental assessments
- Performing zoning and subdivision administration to include development plan reviews, subdivision reviews, and providing staff assistance to local Boards of Zoning Appeals and Planning Commissions
- Facilitating orientation and continuing education for members of planning staff, Boards of Zoning Appeals, and Planning Commissions as required by state law
- Grant writing and research
