Applying for Unemployment Benefits
If your work has been affected by COVID-19, you can apply for Unemployment Insurance. This process and these benefits are the same as applying for benefits if you lose your job through no fault of your own. Please review the instructions below.

WRCOG Office Closure Notice
In light of the recent coronavirus outbreak and its related public health concerns, Waccamaw Regional Council of Governments’ main office in Georgetown at 1230 Highmarket Street will close to the public effective immediately until further notice. WRCOG staff will still continue serving the public via phone and online.
WRCOG’s main number, 843-546-8502, will be answered as normal from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays and all staff will remain accessible as usual. Staff will also be available via email.
SC Works Office Locations in Georgetown, Horry, and Williamsburg Counties Closing Due to COVID-19
In an effort to limit exposure and personal contact to COVID-19, all SC Works office buildings within the Waccamaw Region (including Georgetown, Horry, and Williamsburg counties) will be closed beginning Tuesday, March 17, 2020 and will not reopen until further notice. The Waccamaw Workforce Development Board Meeting scheduled for Tuesday, March 17, 2020 has been updated. For health and safety reasons, the meeting will now be held via conference call only.
