Waccamaw Regional Council of Governments (WRCOG) will consider the update of the Rural Public
Participation Plan (PPP). The Rural PPP is intended to provide direction for public participation activities to be
conducted by the WRCOG Rural Planning Organization (RPO) and contains the vision, goals, objectives, and
techniques used by WRCOG for public participation. WRCOG has been designated by SCDOT to serve as the
RPO for the three-county region.
All written comments received before Friday, September 6, 2019 will be considered.

July 2019 Board of Directors Meeting Cancelled
The Waccamaw Regional Council of Governments will not have a Board of Directors meeting in July 2019.
The next Board of Directors meeting will be on August 12, 2019 at 7:00 pm in the council’s conference room at 1230 Highmarket Street, Georgetown, SC 29440.
Notice of Public Comment-Four Year Regional Workforce Plan
Notice of Public Comment
The Waccamaw Workforce Development Area, which includes Georgetown, Horry and Williamsburg counties, and the Waccamaw Regional Council of Governments as its administrative entity are accepting public comment on modifications to the Greater Pee Dee Regional Workforce Development Plan required by The Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) of 2014. WIOA is designed to help youth, job seekers and businesses. The regional plan serves as an action plan to develop, align, and integrate service delivery strategies and resources among multiple local areas within a region. Local boards and chief elected officials in each planning region are required to submit modifications of four-year regional plans every two years.
